Cookie Policy
Dynnr uses a small, deliberate set of cookies. We do not use third-party advertising trackers. Here is exactly what each cookie does, why it exists, and how to turn it off.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your browser. Cookies let a site remember you between page loads — for example, to keep you logged in or to remember a preference. Some cookies expire when you close your browser; others persist for a set period.
2. The categories we use
Strictly necessary cookies (always on)
These cookies are required for Dynnr to function. They cannot be turned off because without them the service would not work.
- Session cookie — keeps you logged into your Dynnr dashboard. Expires when you sign out or after 30 days of inactivity.
- CSRF token — protects your account from cross-site request forgery attacks during a session.
- Preference cookie — remembers your dashboard preferences (dark mode, collapsed sidebar, etc.) across visits.
Functional cookies (diner menu)
When a diner scans a Dynnr QR menu, we set:
- Filter preference cookie— remembers the diner's dietary filter choice (e.g. Vegetarian) for the current session so they don't have to re-select on every page. Expires after 1 hour.
Analytics cookies (aggregate, anonymous)
We use first-party privacy-respecting analytics (Plausible or PostHog, depending on deployment) to understand how the service is used. These cookies:
- Never collect personal information.
- Never track you across other websites.
- Aggregate scans, page views, and feature usage at the restaurant level.
You can opt out of analytics from the cookie banner or from your dashboard settings.
Advertising and third-party tracking cookies
We do not use any. Dynnr does not run ads. We do not embed Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, TikTok pixel, or any other third-party advertising script on our site or in your diner menu.
3. How to control cookies
You can manage or block cookies at any time using:
- The Dynnr cookie banner that appears on your first visit.
- Your browser's privacy settings (every major browser allows blocking or clearing cookies).
- Browser extensions such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger.
If you block strictly necessary cookies, the dashboard will not work. Blocking functional or analytics cookies does not affect basic functionality.
4. Cookies on the diner-facing menu
Diners scanning a Dynnr QR menu encounter only one cookie — the short-lived filter preference cookie described above. We do not require diners to accept any cookie to view a menu.
5. Changes to this policy
If we add a new category of cookies, we will update this page and surface a fresh cookie banner asking for consent where required.
